- The Visa Approval Letter: is a document that you must obtain from the Vietnamese Immigration Department before traveling to Vietnam and applying for a Visa On Arrival (VOA). You cannot enter the country with only a Visa Approval Letter. To clear immigration and enter Vietnam, you must queue at the visa-issuing counters at the airport and get the VOA stamped on your passport.
