1. Explore the Louvre Abu Dhabi

he Louvre Abu Dhabi probably needs no introduction. The artworks inside are just as impressive as the renowned dome (which is best viewed at night).Claude Monet, Vincent Van Gogh, and Piet Mondrian are just a few of the artists whose works are on display in the permanent collection, and temporary exhibitions such as Stories of Paper, which featured Katsushika Hokusai’s Kanagawa-oki Nami Ura (The Great Wave off Kanagawa), and Rembrandt, Vermeer, and the Dutch Golden Age have previously wowed visitors.

2. Go for a stroll along the Corniche

Walking around the Corniche is another popular activity in Abu Dhabi. The Corniche is eight kilometers long, but if you don’t have time to complete the entire walk, you may easily shorten it. If possible, stroll around to the UAE flagpole at Marina Mall, which was formerly the world’s highest flagpole at 123 metres, for unobstructed views. 3. Learn about the history of the UAE at Qasr Al Hos

The capital’s oldest building, Qasr Al Hosn, was converted into a museum in 2018. Inside, you will learn about the UAE’s history from 8,000 years ago to the twentieth century. Next door, you’ll find the House of Artisans, where you can learn about Emirati crafts like Al Sadu, and the Cultural Foundation, which hosts pop-up exhibitions.

6. Brave the world’s fastest rollercoaster at Ferrari World Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi attractions tend to be the largest, widest, and tallest. At Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, you can ride the Formula Rossa, the world’s fastest rollercoaster. Strap in, put on your goggles, and accelerate from 0 to 240 km/h in 4.9 seconds. It’s one of the best things to do in Abu

7. Admire the city from above at Observation Deck at 300

If you are visiting Abu Dhabi for the first time, what better way to gather your bearings than to visit the capital’s highest point? Observation Deck at 300, located on the 74th level of the Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers, offers views of Emirates Palace, Qasr Al Watan, and the city skyline. 8. See the light show at Qasr Al Watan

The presidential palace is partially available to the public, and visitors can explore chambers such as the great hall and library. 9. Take a guided tour of Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

We shouldn’t pick favorites, but if we had to choose just one thing to see while in the city, it would have to be the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque. Guided tours in Arabic and English are available without reservation, and you’ll learn more about the building’s design and notable features inside (including the world’s biggest handwoven carpet) over the course of around 45 minutes. 10. Walk, run or cycle the F1 track at Yas Marina Circuit

While we clearly encourage everyone to try to secure tickets to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, it only takes place on one weekend each year. But that doesn’t mean you can’t visit the historic track; Yas Marina Circuit welcomes runners and bikers every Monday and Wednesday. 11. Watch a gig at Etihad Arena

Etihad Arena, which has previously featured Kevin Hart and Jimmy Carr comedy performances as well as concerts by the Backstreet Boys, BLACKPINK, Imagine Dragons, and Sting, is one of the city’s top venues.

12. Visit The Alley at MiZa

Mina Zayed is one of the coolest locations in town, and MiZa (get it?) is undoubtedly the spot to be and be seen. The neighbourhood project will involve the remodeling of several warehouses in the region, which will be rented out to local companies. During the winter, travel to The Alley on weekends for pop-ups from local merchants and eateries, as well as live music and art experiences, or stop by the MiZa Library on Thursday evenings for workshops. 13. Try your hand at pottery at Studio Clay

Have you always wanted to try pottery? At Studio Clay, you may attempt both wheel throwing and hand building, with beginner-friendly classes lasting two to three hours. While we don’t expect your first attempts to be complete works of art (but do they have to be?), you may also purchase stunning and one-of-a-kind creations directly from the studio. Modern art is like marmite: you either love or detest it. And if you belong to the former group, you’ll adore Etihad Modern Art Gallery. 16. Listen to live music at Manarat Al Saadiyat

Manarat Al Saadiyat, another art gallery on Saadiyat Island, has hosted impressive exhibitions such as Seeing Through Light, which features items from the soon-to-open Guggenheim Abu Dhabi collection, and Celestial: A Journey Through Space and Time, which features works by UAE-based photographer Samy Olabi. 17. Learn about another culture at the Korean Cultural Center

From Korean film screenings to language courses and even K-beauty lessons, the Korean Cultural Center on Yas Island has everything you need to learn about Korean culture. 18. Catch a free exhibition at The Art Gallery at NYU Abu Dhabi

An art gallery has been located on the Saadiyat Island campus of NYU Abu Dhabi since 2014. Free exhibitions are held here all year, with museum exhibits in the main gallery and experimental projects in the project area. One of the best things to do in Abu Dhabi during the winter, this area will return in October with Blane De St. Croix’s Horizon show.

19. Admire the architecture at the Cultural Foundation

The Cultural Foundation should be on your list of things to do in Abu Dhabi just for the architecture, which features stunning arches and tiling throughout. If that isn’t enough of an incentive to attend, the temporary exhibitions, which include LOBI LOBI: Pascale Marthine Tayou and Comic Craze Vol.3, might enough. 22. Gaze out at Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque from Wahat Al Karama

Wahat Al Karama, also known as the Oasis of Dignity, is a war memorial where visitors may learn more about the UAE’s heroes as well as the emirate’s diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives. 23. Step back in time at Heritage Village

Explore Emirati culture at Heritage Village, which includes a fort, camp, souk, and traditional mosque with artifacts. Don’t miss the opportunity to take a photo next to the world’s largest flagpole, which can be seen from the Corniche. 24. Step inside a video game at Battle Park

Are you a big fan of first-person shooters? You may try them out in real life at Battle Park in Marina mall. Choose the IBattle experience, and you’ll soon be running around with your (fake) gun, firing at adversaries, and having a great time, making it one of the greatest things to do in Abu Dhabi. The Abrahamic Family House is a structure that includes three houses of worship and was just opened in early March. The Emirates-themed waterpark is one of Yas Island’s biggest attractions, offering over 40 rides and sensations to try. Some of our favorites for making a splash include Hamlool’s Humps, a ten-story-high speed slide, Liwa Loop, the region’s first freefall drop waterslide, the six Slithers Slides with serpentine twists, and Dawwama, the world’s largest hydromagnetic-powered, six-person tornado waterslide, all of which add up to a fantastic time. You’ve probably seen this amazing public artwork displaying a 3D likeness of the late Sheikh Zayed while traveling along the Corniche. Visit The Founder’s Memorial to see The Constellation up close and walk around the heritage garden and sanctuary.

30. Dine at the top of the farthest manmade leaning building at Cyan Brasserie

The Andaz Capital Gate is the world’s farthest manufactured leaning building (try repeating that five times fast), with an 18-degree inclination. A remarkable achievement of engineering, you may see it in all its glory by dining at Cyan Brasserie, located on the 18th level.

31. Pinky’s up for afternoon tea at Emirates Palace

32. Indulge in a 34-layer chocolate cake at Butcher & Still

Butcher & Still is one of the city’s most impressive restaurants, based only on its interior decor, which was inspired by a 1920s Chicago steakhouse. The steaks are also excellent, contributing to this establishment’s reputation as Abu Dhabi’s premier steakhouse.

33. Grab a slice of queue-worthy pizza at Marmellata

Marmellata pizzeria, an Abu Dhabi icon, began as a little hole-in-the-wall delivering slices to anxiously waiting customers who lined up around the block, trying to get to the front before the sold-out sign appeared.

Fortunately  the pizza has increased its size and menu. Marmellata now has a larger location in Mina Zayed, with indoor and outdoor dining, as well as a new menu that includes both old favorites and interesting new flavor combinations like fig and gorgonzola and kale and oyster mushroom pizzas.

34. Grab a coffee at a café in Al Bateen

The city thrives on coffee, and Al Bateen has some of the best cafés. Some of our favourites include Joud Coffee, No. Fifty Seven Boutique Café, and tashas, but take a stroll and let your eyes lead you. This is one of the best things to do in Abu Dhabi if you can’t live without coffee.

35. Go for a drink at one of the oldest pubs in the city at PJ O’Reilly’s

PJ O’Reilly’s is an Abu Dhabi institution and one of the city’s oldest pubs. Aside from a fantastic outdoor area, there are other promotions throughout the week, including an extended happy hour on Mondays and ladies’ nights from Sunday to Thursday.

Mamsha Al Saadiyat, another thriving gourmet area, is home to a variety of cuisines, with each restaurant offering stunning views over Soul Beach. Antonia (highly recommended as the greatest Italian restaurant) serves pizza, while Beirut Sur Mer is a must-visit for Lebanese cuisine. 40. Dine in the dark at Fresh Basil

Reserve a table in the dark at Fresh Basil for a really one-of-a-kind dining experience. 44. Give paintball a go at Al Forsan International Sports Resort

When it comes to things to do in Abu Dhabi, anyone who like sports should definitely visit Al Forsan. The facility offers a wide range of physical activities, including archery, shooting, padel, and paddleboarding. Our #1 choice, however, has to be paintball. 45. Race the go karts at Adrenark Adventure

Adrenark Adventure, the region’s largest adventure park, opened its doors in April and should be at the top of your list of things to do in Abu Dhabi if you have children. The 54,000-square-foot facility features 17 activities, including climbing walls, LED slides, obstacle rope courses, and a drop tower. Our favorite feature, however, has to be the UAE’s first multi-level e-karting course, which allows you to race across three floors. 46. Keep cool at Snow Abu Dhabi

Snow Abu Dhabi is one of Abu Dhabi’s newest attractions, having debuted in June. There are over a dozen rides and attractions, such as toboggan slides, a polar express train, and bumper cars.

47. Get messy at the Splatter Rooms

Do you dislike coloring inside the lines? Then go to Splatter Rooms to release your inner creativity. The freestyle art centre is the place to go if you want to get wild with paint and create your own abstract masterpiece. Each session allows aspiring artists to experiment with different art genres while also providing all of the required tools and coaching. Aside from typical splash sessions with pendulum art, spinning art, and flowing art, you can also reserve a glow-in-the-dark paint session. From Dhs119. 48. Encourage a love of reading at Abu Dhabi Children’s Library

Instilling a love of reading in your children from an early age is one of the best things you can do for them, and there’s no better location to do so than the Abu Dhabi Children’s Library. The facility, located within the Cultural Foundation, features comfortable reading nooks spread across three floors. 49. Catch the latest movies at Cinemacity

Yes, there are cinemas across the city, but Cinemacity is the largest in the UAE, with 15 screens. There are several experiences to select from, including 3DMAX, VIP, and a children’s theatre, and all of your favorite Hollywood and Bollywood films are shown here. Better yet, the

building itself is breathtaking, and photographing it at night is one of the best things to do in Abu Dhabi.

 

50. Burn off some energy at BOUNCE

Do you have some hyperactive small ones? Set them loose at the trampoline park BOUNCE, and they will, ahem, bounce it off. In addition to jumping, you can play dodgeball (on a trampoline), slam dunk a basketball (on a trampoline), or practice your feats on the wall or huge back (also on a trampoline). 55. Slide down the region’s tallest stainless steel slide at WTC Mall

Don’t ask us why a mall has the region’s tallest stainless steel slide; we have no idea, but we aren’t complaining. There are two slides to select from, 68 metres and 54 metres long, and you’ll travel at speeds of two to three metres per second. You can also add on a video experience ‘for the gram,’ making this one of the best things to do in Abu Dhabi if you want to wow your friends.

57. Learn about the night sky at Al Sadeem Observatory

Al Wathba Wetland Reserve, about a 30-minute drive from the city, is a must-see for animal enthusiasts. During the autumn and spring, up to 4,000 Greater Flamingos live in the area, and there are two walking routes – 1.5km and 3km – where you may see them in their natural habitat.

60. Take a selfie at Al Wathba Salt Lakes

The salt lakes, another Al Wathba attraction, are undoubtedly popular on Instagram. The salt deposits resemble lily pads and, when combined with the light blue waters surrounding them, make for ideal social media content. Al Ain is known as the Garden City, and you’ll see why when you visit Al Ain Oasis. Nearly 150,000 date palm trees grow on 1,200 hectares of land. If you want to admire art created by UAE-based artists, visit Al Qattara Art Centre. Along with admiring art and exploring the archeological artifacts in the basement, you may visit the pottery and calligraphy studios, as well as participate in sketching and painting lessons.

83. Go for a walk along the Eastern Mangroves Promenade

While the Jubail Mangroves are excellent for kayaking, the Eastern Mangroves Promenade is ideal for a stroll. There are numerous pit breaks along the 3.5km stretch to view the scenery, and at the finish near the Anantara hotel, you’ll find a 50-berth marina as well as fantastic restaurants like Ba:TE by Wawa Dining.

84. Have fun at Circuit X

There are four different ways to enjoy fun at Circuit X on Hudayriat Island. There’s a splash park, skate park, and BMX park, as the name implies, as well as a ropes park, which is an obstacle course featuring a zipline and a climbing wall. You won’t find a more beautiful spot to play, though Saadiyat Beach Golf Club, with its wandering gazelle, may give it a run for its money.
