“They have something against me” – Aston Villa Star clearly believes fans hate him and are out to get him

Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez received a two-match ban from FIFA for “offensive behaviour” during September matches against Chile and Colombia. The Argentine FA expressed “absolute disagreement” with their decision to suspend the 32-year-old.

The Argentina international has accepted the circumstances and will miss the World Cup qualifiers against Venezuela and Bolivia this month.

On Wednesday, the custodian impressed for Aston Villa in their 1-0 Champions League victory over Bayern Munich.

The Argentine media interviewed him and quizzed him about his two-match suspension. TNT Sports has relayed his remarks.

Martínez allegedly made an obscene gesture during the national team’s victory over Chile. He was also involved in a scandal following La Albiceleste’s defeat against Colombia. Following halftime, the Aston Villa star attacked a camera.

The World Cup and Copa América winner has stated that the sport’s regulatory body seemed to have something against him.

“You can’t control it. I give everything for my club and the national team. I give my best. Sometimes they have something against me, I can’t control it,” he said.

TNT Sports claim the South American has no choice but to accept the situation.

“I enjoy my team and my country. I have to train, I’ll stay here. It’s a pity I can’t be here, we have a team to spare. We need to win, if we win both, we are closer to the World Cup. These are games we have to win,” Martínez explained.

The former Arsenal man has set a goal of winning silverware with Unai Emery’s side. He has kept two clean sheets and conceded nine goals from eight matches for Aston Villa this season.
