Head coach Jim Harbaugh’s recent heart-related health concern has overshadowed the Chargers’ improved play, which includes better fundamentals and a more unified offensive and defensive effort.

Harbaugh grew up in Ann Arbour, Michigan, and played for his alma university, the Michigan Wolverines, before joining the National Football League. He later returned to Ann Arbour to lead his favourite university to the national championship during the 2023-2024 season, defeating the University of Washington this past January.

On Thursday, a video showing Harbaugh responding to a recent honor he received quietly went viral without much national media attention. Harbaugh was inducted into the Michigan Sports Hall of Fame and took the opportunity to express his profound gratitude for the accomplishment.

“Hello fellow Michiganders and Michigan Sports Hall-Of-Fame, wow what a tremendous honor. I was really blown away. The word that came to my mind when I received this news was, gratitude,” Harbaugh said, naming the names of fellow Michigan sports stars he joined including Jake Long, Don Shane, Ken Holland, Braylon Edwards and others.

“Legends, every single one of them,” Harbaugh said, giving a shout-out to his father Jack Harbaugh and mother Jackie Harbaugh in the process. “Just, as I said, gratitude, Michigan Sports Hall-Of-Fame, just one question for you. Who could possibly have it better than us? Nobody! Thank you,” Harbaugh concluded, using he and his father Jack’s famous catch phrase as he signed off from the video, which was viewed nearly 130,000 times as of the early hours of Saturday morning.
