Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has refused to rule out leaving the Gtech Community Stadium, despite continuous reports connecting him to Manchester United.

The Dane has been linked with succeeding Erik ten Hag at Old Trafford for the second time this year. The latter is under pressure after leading the team through a five-game losing streak.

United, who host Frank’s team at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday, have also failed to score in their last three league games, placing them 14th in the table.

Ten Hag has been granted a stay of execution by the United leadership, but he will undoubtedly need to supervise considerable improvements in the coming weeks to keep his job.

Frank, whose agents reportedly spoke with United executives in May, has frequently been mentioned as a potential successor to Ten Hag after doing an excellent job in west London in recent years.

Although he didn’t name any clubs or potential destinations, he has refused to to rule out the possibility of turning his back on Brentford and taking on a fresh challenge.

Frank, speaking to talkSPORT, said: “I’ve said many times I’m very happy at Brentford. Who knows what will happen in the future.

“Maybe I stay here for many years. I’m open, maybe something happens. But first and foremost, very happy, just working very hard every day to make the club better.”

Clarifying what he meant by saying he is ‘open’ to a change in the future, the Dane, who was appointed Brentford boss back in 2018, said: “That’s because it’s very difficult to predict the future. Who knows what will happen.
