Guardians hire new hitting coach and affirm the return of Stephen Vogt’s coaching staff
Cleveland, Ohio — The Guardians have signed Grant Fink as their new hitting coach. He will succeed Chris Valaika, who left at the end of the season to become the Cincinnati Reds’ hitting coach under new manager Terry Francona.
Fink, 33, will join manager Stephen Vogt’s staff after serving as the Guardians’ minor league hitting coordinator for the previous three seasons. He joined the organization as a coach in 2017 and was Cleveland’s 23rd-round choice in the 2013 draft out of Missouri Western State University.
