Chris Sutton trolls Rangers following Celtic draw against Atalanta
Chris Sutton couldn’t pass up the opportunity to insult Rangers following Celtic’s draw with the current Europa League champions.
The Hoops leave Italy tonight with an important Champions League point after holding Atalanta to a 0-0 draw in Serie A.
Brendan Rodgers changed his tactics to approach the game in a more defensive manner, and it worked beautifully. This resulted in a 0-0 draw in Bergamo.
While this was a major result for the Scottish Premiership champions, Sutton saw that there was no visible overcelebration among the players, staff, or fans.
He wrote on X: “Not celebrating a draw like others do… but a brave, organised defensive display from Celtic.
“Schmeichel a top class goalkeeper and some of the last ditch defending was excellent from Trusty and Scales.
“A bit of pragmatism from Brendan Rodgers playing Idah up top.”
The former Celtic striker is referring to Rangers’ celebrations after a 3-3 derby draw with Celtic in April of this year.
Celtic’s point is even more impressive given their 7-1 defeat to Borussia Dortmund last time out in Europe.
Their next two European matches are in Glasgow, against RB Leipzig and Club Brugge.
