Bryan Mbeumo’s 37-second strike earned the Bees a place in the record books, as the first team to score in the first minute of three straight matches.
Thomas Frank said there was a purpose to the madness after Brentford broke Premier League records.
Bryan Mbeumo’s 37-second goal against West Ham became the Bees the first team to score in the first minute of three successive games. However, as in the previous two games against Manchester City and Tottenham, they were unable to maintain their early lead, as Tomas Soucek scored a second-half equaliser to secure a 1-1 draw for the Hammers.
Nevertheless, Frank admitted that lightning striking three times in a row was “crazy”. He added: “Is it just the Premier League? There are lots of leagues. I need to know if it’s a world record or not.”
