Co-offensive coordinator JaMarcus Shephard offered complimented about Booker on Wednesday.

“More than anything else, I think I was most impressed by Booker,” Shephard said about practice this week. “Booker had a fire in him this week. He is all over every single player on this team’s rear end, every single play. Getting in their face. Pushing the tempo, the envelope with each one of them. Telling them, ‘Hey this is the expectation. I’m not going to tell you this over and over again. You’re going to do it the right way or get out.’ I love that about our left guard.”

Booker is a junior left guard who filled in as left tackle for one game when other players were sidelined. He is one of the permanent captains of the 2024 squad, along with Malachi Moore, Jalen Milroe, and Deontae Lawson.

Booker appears to be leading a well-practiced Crimson Tide team this week.

“Oh man, these guys are on fire,” Shephard said. “They’re freaking flying around. They’re taking to their hard coaching. That’s how we always are. They’re taking to it.”

No. 15 Alabama will face No. 21 Missouri on Saturday (2:45 p.m. CT, ABC) at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
