The University of Texas at Dallas Scholarship is a fully financed Postdoctoral degree in biological sciences involving experimental or computational research in the laboratory.
The PhD program in Molecular and Cell Biology at the University of Texas at Dallas begins with fundamental courses in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and quantitative biology. PhD candidates do experimental or computational research in biochemistry, cell biology, microbiology, neurobiology, or systems and computational biology.

The University of Texas Scholarship is a mentored program that includes core courses in biochemistry, molecular biology, cell biology, and quantitative biology. Students undertake experimental or computational research in a laboratory of their choice.
Faculty labs are regularly supported by the NIH, ACS, and NSF, exposing students to cutting-edge research techniques that aid in the development of marketable skills for a variety of career pathways.
Next-generation sequencing platforms, cell imaging technologies, protein and small molecule mass spectrometry, and cell sorting are all available.
Requirements:
To be considered for the University of Texas Scholarship, applicants must have:
- Background in calculus, general physics, organic chemistry, biochemistry and general biology, including genetics. Students intending to do research in computational biology should have some background in mathematics and in programming. Entering students not having this background may be required to take some additional course work in their first year or in the summer immediately preceding entry.
