Nigeria LNG Prize For Science Award 2024 | $100,000 Cash Prize

The Nigeria Prize for Science recognizes excellence in scientific breakthroughs and honors scientists from all over the world who assist in the solution of a local or ‘Nigerian’ problem, as defined and advertised by the prize’s Advisory Board.

The Prize is an annual award meant to encourage the advancement and application of science and technology. The pursuit of a prestigious scientific prize is expected to improve science and technology in Nigeria, resolve issues related to the country’s development, and help raise living standards.

Entries are invited from scientists and innovators all over the world who want to advance scientific solutions to a specific problem, as outlined in the year’s theme, Innovations and Technologies for Reducing the Effects of Climate Change.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) Prize for Science Award:

• The award is open scientists and innovators worldwide (Nigerians and non-Nigerians) involved in the application of science to proffer innovation and technologies for reducing the effects of climate change
• Members of the Advisory Board or Panel of Judges or their relatives are not allowed to enter their works for the Science Prize during their year of service as well as the following year.
• Nigeria LNG Limited staff or their family members ineligible to enter the prize during their years of service and five (5) years post-service.
• The work should be of outstanding merit and should have advanced the frontiers of knowledge and/or provide an innovative technology for reducing the effects of climate change.
• The entry should be a completed scientific work, substantiated by either a proof of concept or tangible societal impact.
• Only one entry can be submitted by an individual or group
• All materials in support of the entry must be submitted within the time stipulated

• As the intention is to recognize the most relevant and effective solution to a prescribed problem for which Nigeria benefits, works of collaboration by two or more persons are also welcome.
• Only one entry per contestant(s) is permitted per competition year.
• Entries not submitted by the stated deadline and according to stated conditions shall not be considered.
• The prize will be awarded for no other reason than excellence.
