The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana is a collaboration between KNUST and the Mastercard Foundation, headquartered in Toronto, Canada, to train 2,250 scholars over a 15-year period (750 Scholars in Phase I – 2014-2019 and 1,500 Scholars in Phase II – 2019-2029) to make significant contributions to societal change and Africa’s transformation.

The Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) provides qualified academically talented but economically disadvantaged young people in Ghana and Africa with access to quality education, as well as the opportunity to give back to their communities.

Eligibility Requirements:

To be considered for the Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at KNUST:

  • All Applicants and prospective candidates must have in their possession, a genuine and valid WASSCE or GBCE or ABCE or GCE O Level and A Level or their equivalent results from an accredited/recognized institutions. Applicant’s results must not be more than five years old. NO AWAITING RESULTS candidate will be processed for the scholarship.
  • The candidates must further meet KNUST’s Admission Requirements
  • The Applicant must demonstrate that he/she has Critical Economic Needs.
  • The Applicant must have Proven Records of Leadership and Community Engagement(s).
    Priority shall be given to;
    Females
  • Displaced Persons (Certified Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons, and the like)
    Persons living with Disability
  • The Applicant must be prepared to Go-Back and Give-Back to his or her Community.
  • The Applicant must NOT be enrolled in any tertiary institution.

  • Application form
  • The printout of your application for admission at KNUST (if available).
  • Original Certificates for Senior High School results (such as WASSCE or GBCE or ABCE or GCE O’Level and A’Level or their equivalent Results).
