Careers You Haven’t Heard Of…….Yet!

Demographic, technical, and socioeconomic trends are affecting the formation of a new employment environment and the transition to the digital workplace of the future all over the world. As some conventional work sectors and occupations diminish, other employment sectors and roles develop.

Many wholly new job titles will be formed and become common career options during the next few decades. In the absence of a time machine, here are some predictions for the most likely future jobs…

Think about this for a minute! Social media, blogs and web browsing are all generating enormous quantities of data per day that needs to be stored, managed and analyzed. Waste data handlers help with this by disposing of data waste in a responsible and secure way, which helps to ensure that identities and personal information are not compromised.

About 6 years ago, a study showed  2.5 quintillion bytes of data a year was produced across social media, blogs and web browsing – That’s a lot of data! And to think, that figure has most likely doubled or even tripled since then. To put that in context, that’s the equivalent of over 350 million DVDs per day, or over 4,000 Libraries of Congress worth of data per day!

2. Avatar managers

Students interested in programming may be interested in a profession as an avatar manager, which is the next on our list of the most likely future careers. This would entail creating and managing holograms of virtual people to serve as personal interactive guides in settings such as a school classroom.

3. Personal digital curator

Personal branding is another emerging industry in the future workplace, and you may work as a personal digital curator – a professional who proposes and maintains a unique suite of apps, hardware, software, and information sources, curating customers’ digital personalities and portfolios.

4.Virtual reality experience designers

Virtual reality is expected to become as commonplace as smartphones and the internet are today. This will generate opportunities for virtual experience designers, who will work with the design of dynamic 3D settings to produce a really in-the-moment experience in games.

5. Remote operators

The ongoing advancement of automation means that the deployment of autonomous vehicles will increase need for remote operators. Pilots, drivers, and ship captains could soon be seated in an office, controlling vehicles from afar!

6. 3D printer designers

3D printing is another emerging business that has the potential to disrupt numerous industries. As a 3D printer designer, you’ll produce ideas for 3D-printed things ranging from prosthetic body parts to bespoke household items.

7. Elderly wellbeing consultant

Moving on to healthcare for our future jobs, the aging populations in many nations mean that there will be an increased demand for elderly wellbeing consultants who can help manage the health and personal needs of the elderly utilizing the most up-to-date medical therapies.

8. Remote healthcare specialists

‘Remote healthcare specialists’ are people who build systems and devices that can proactively track health conditions, or who are involved in remote/virtual healthcare connections with patients.
