2023 IAEA Marie-Curie Scholarship For International Students

The IAEA Marie-Curie Scholarship Program awards scholarships to up to 100 selected applicants each year in order to increase the pool of eligible young women in the nuclear profession; in Austria.

It also intends to support a diverse workforce of both men and women in the future, contributing to global scientific and technological innovation from all over the world because variety allows for higher creativity and productivity.

Scholarship Details:

  • The IAEA Marie Sklodowska-Curie Fellowship Programme (MSCFP) is accepting applications for Master’s degrees in nuclear science and technology, nuclear safety and security, or non-proliferation from female students.
  • Selected students receive scholarships for nuclear-related Master’s programs at approved universities. They can also pursue a 12-month IAEA-facilitated internship.
  • Scholarships are given to 100+ students annually based on funding. Study field and geographic and linguistic diversity are considered.

Scholarship Requirements:

The fellowship programme is open to female students from IAEA Member States who have been accepted or are enrolled in a Master’s programme at an accredited university. Consideration will be given to geographic distribution, the field of study distribution and linguistic diversity.

The IAEA MSCFP is open to students from IAEA Member States who meet the following entry requirements:

  • Female candidates;
  • Accepted by or enrolled in an accredited university in Master’s programme in a nuclear related field.

Preference will be given to applicants with above average academic credentials (75% or above or GPA > 3.0 out of 4.0).

Scholarship Duration and Reward

The students are awarded up to €20,000 for tuition costs and up to €20,000 for living costs for the Master’s programme.

Required Documents

The documents required in addition to completed online application form are:

  • Copy of the Passport/National ID
  • Official acceptance/admission letter from university into the Master’s programme indicating the nuclear related field of study and duration of the programme
  • Statement of tuition fees/confirmation of/tuition costs
  • Completed reference forms sent directly to MSCFP@iaea.org by TWO referees (download the form here).

NOTE: All application documents must be submitted in English using the MSCFP online application form. If documents are submitted in original language please also include official translation in English. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
