Czech Republic Government Scholarship For International Students
Czech Republic scholarships to residents of developing and specialized nations listed below for study at Czech public higher education institutions (referred to as “universities”) are a significant aspect of the Czech Republic’s long-standing international development cooperation.
Since the late 1950s, nearly 20,000 foreigners have studied at Czech universities on Czech government scholarships.
Government scholarships for studies at universities in the Czech Republic are governed by a Resolution of the Government of the Czech Republic No. 77 as of 28th January 2019 as part of a joint foreign development cooperation program pursued by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (https://www.msmt.cz/) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (https://www.mzv.cz/), implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Health (https://www.mzcr.cz/).
The Czech Republic’s government provides scholarships as part of its Foreign Development Assistance to foreign nationals from developing and specific third countries listed below to study at public institutions of higher education in the Czech Republic.

Scholarship Duration and Reward
These so-called Government Scholarships are designed to cover the standard length of study:
- In Follow-up Master’s study programs, as well as a one-year preparatory Czech language course (which is integrated with additional field-specific training).
