Browns receiver Jerry Jeudy fires shots at Broncos ahead of ‘MNF’ matchup
The Cleveland Browns will seek to play spoiler again when they go to Denver to face the Broncos on “Monday Night Football.”
The primetime battle will be a reunion for Browns receiver Jerry Jeudy, who spent the first four years of his career with the Broncos before being dealt to Cleveland in the summer.
Since Jameis Winston took over as quarterback for the Browns, Jeudy has been a key offensive contributor. In the last four games, Jeudy has 24 receptions for 379 yards and a touchdown. He is presently on track to complete the season with 70 receptions for 997 yards, which would be a career high for the 25-year-old.
When asked about his recent increase in targets, Jeudy fired a veiled jab at his former squad.
“I feel like I’ve been getting open my whole career,” said Jeudy. “Just sometimes you don’t get that much of an opportunity. Now I’m here and getting open and getting opportunities. So now it’s time to take advantage of them… You’ve got to be patient and eventually your time will come. Eventually is all on God’s timing, so when your time comes, just be ready.”
Jeudy, who was the second receiver selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, failed to meet expectations during his time in Denver. Now that Jeudy has a new contract in Cleveland, it’s evident that the change of scenery has benefited him.
