According to Janet Oravetz of 9News, former Detroit Lions and current Denver Broncos wide receiver Josh Reynolds was hurt in a gunshot early Friday morning in Denver. The incident apparently occurred after Reynolds and another man were followed out of a strip club.

Josh Reynolds shot: Broncos WR hit in head, arm, has 'minor injuries'

The shooting occurred just after 3 a.m. on October 18, near East Hampden Avenue and South Dahlia Street, when a 911 caller reported being shot while driving a blue Ford Bronco. The caller stopped replying during the call, indicating that they were departing the situation. Two more 911 calls followed, one of which identified Reynolds as one of the victims.

According to court filings, Reynolds was shot twice—once in his left arm and once in the back of his head—and another man was hit in the back. A third person was injured by shattered glass. All of the victims were injured while attempting to flee from the attackers by climbing over a fence.

The victims had been at Shotgun Willies, a Glendale strip club, but left without incident about 2:45 a.m. However, they quickly realised they were being followed by two drivers, who fired shots at them. The suspects continued to follow the victims into the highway, where their car eventually became inoperable, forcing them to flee by foot.

Denver police have arrested two persons in connection with the shooting: Burr Charlesworth and Luis Mendoza. According to video footage, Mendoza followed Reynolds and his party out of the strip club.

Reynolds, who is on injured reserve with a fractured finger, did not go with the Broncos to their most recent game in New Orleans. Further details about his rehabilitation from the shooting injuries have yet to be disclosed.

Given Reynolds’ present NFL status, this unfortunate tragedy comes as a surprise; nonetheless, no fatalities have been recorded, and culprits have been captured.
