It is time to acknowledge people whose ability, skill, and determination propelled them to the top of their respective areas in 2024.

The Cleveland Guardians had a fantastic season, so it’s only right that they start receiving honors and recognition.

According to GuardsInsider, manager Stephen Vogt has won The Sporting News’ AL Manager of the Year award.

“Congrats to Stephen Vogt on becoming the fourth Cleveland Manager to be so honored. Joins Mike Hargrove (1995), Eric Wedge (2007) and Terry Francona (2016, ’17). José Ramírez (3B) & Emmanuel Clase (RP) also named AL @sportingnews All-Stars,” they posted on X.

Vogt took the Guards to a solid 92-69 record and made it all the way to the AL Championship Series.

“Stephen Vogt came to Cleveland in November with zero managerial experience and was tasked with replacing a man who managed the Indians/Guardians for 1,678 games and had 23 years of MLB experience, including two World Series rings. So how did the transition go from Terry Francona to Vogt? About as well as Guardians president of baseball operations Chris Antonetti could have hoped,” they wrote.

Per Sporting News, Vogt “quickly meshed with his new club, displaying the qualities that made him a popular teammate in his playing days. Clearly, the ability has carried over to his new role.”
