Detroit Lions Coach Dan Campbell hits back at Chris Christie’s Calling Him Classless for Running Up the Score Against Cowboys

Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie dubbed Detroit Lions coach Dan Campbell “classless” after the team’s victory over the Dallas Cowboys, which amused Campbell.

Last Sunday, the Lions crushed the Cowboys, 47-9. Since Cowboys owner Jerry Jones took over in 1989, the franchise has suffered its worst loss.

Although it was evident well before the end of the game that the Cowboys would not compete, the Lions’ lead continues to increase. At one point, the team even played a trick play in which offensive lineman Penei Sewell was the recipient of a “hook and ladder” play. However, due to an offensive penalty, the play was called back.

Christie, a Cowboys fan and friend of Jones, was not amused by the team’s antics. On an episode of Chris “Mad Dog” Russo’s show Mad Dog Unleashed, the former governor claimed Campbell had “no class.”

“That’s Dan Campbell,” Christie said. “He’s not no class — never has — so it’s fine. Dan Campbell, that’s the way he is; and what goes around, comes around.

During a press conference on Monday, Campbell was asked about Christie’s remarks. When he heard the previous governor’s name, he burst out laughing.

“The last time somebody called me class, I was drinking wine out of a bottle,” Campbell said. “But no, it’s all good. I’m not worried about it.”
