Amanda Staveley wants to prove her worth to Tottenham by hiring a Newcastle United man
According to Bryan King, the only way Amanda Staveley’s usefulness to Tottenham would be shown is if she assisted the club in appointing Eddie Howe
The former Tottenham Hotspur scout does not believe Eddie Howe would be an impressive hire in North London.
As previously reported by the Mirror (September 28), Staveley is in “advanced talks” to invest in Tottenham.
That speculation grew even stronger after Staveley was sighted at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium (via Lilywhite Rose on X, 13 October) during the NFL game between the Chicago Bears and the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
According to Alan Nixon on Patreon (October 13), Newcastle United manager Howe would be a target for Staveley if she rose to power in North London.
However, King, speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, believes the businesswomen need not be concerned about making management changes at Spurs.
“Managing Newcastle, fine,” King said.
“However, can you tell me what Howe has won? They’ve qualified for the Champions League, that is it. I can’t see Howe being the solution to end Spurs’ trophy drought.
“I think the only thing that would prove her worth is if she brought Guardiola to the club. However, at this moment in time, the last thing she should be thinking about before even making any investment is changing the manager.”
Pep Guardiola to replace Ange Postecoglou at Tottenham?
It appears that luring Guardiola to Tottenham is an almost impossible task. As a result, if Staveley could contribute, she would undoubtedly become a fan favourite among Spurs fans.
The North London club has previously appointed well-known managers such as José Mourinho and Antonio Conte. As a result, Guardiola joining Spurs after leaving Manchester City is not entirely out of the question.
However, it appears doubtful, and it would be harsh to fire Ange Postecoglou at this time.
Nonetheless, speculation linking Howe with Spurs suggests pressure is on the Australian, who will want to start making some significant progress soon.
