Alabama recruited Fournette before he decided to stay in his native state of Louisiana and play for LSU. He eventually visited the Crimson Tide, but the experience was disappointing, according to the LSU product.

“I loved it here (LSU),” Fournette said. “I took a visit to Alabama, sh*t was weak. I had a daughter at the time, so I decided to stay home.”

Fournette went on to have a good collegiate career at LSU, although he finished 0-3 in three games versus Alabama.
