Congratulations to Steve Bruce for his success – Manchester United is imminent

I’d want to congratulate Steve Bruce.

Steve Bruce Appointed As Head Coach | Blackpool Football Club

No, honestly.

Steve Bruce has created a piece of history.

The former Sunderland and Newcastle United manager has been named the League One Manager of the Month (see below).

Going down in history as the first Blackpool manager to win his first four league games.

I hereby sincerely apologise on behalf of all Newcastle United supporters who, like me, believed he was useless.

Steve Bruce has definitely proven all NUFC fans incorrect, and some Blackpool fans believe he is simply bitter and unworthy.

With Erik ten Hag on his way out, it’s only a matter of time before Steve Bruce takes his proper place at Manchester United, the club he loves.

He will of course be disappointed to leave the Blackpool fans behind after only two minutes in the job, but as Sheffield Wednesday fans and those of many other teams know, it is all about Steve Bruce.

Hopefully, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Dan Ashworth will accept his record-breaking accolade and contribution to Blackpool history without delving deeper. Steve Bruce’s second game as Blackpool manager ended in a loss against Sheffield Wednesday at home.

Since their four league wins in September, Blackpool have drawn at home with Lincoln and lost at Mansfield.

Will Manchester United come calling before the Blackpool lights go out?

Blackpool official media release on Steve Bruce – 11 October 2024:

‘Steve Bruce has been named September’s Sky Bet League One Manager of the Month.

Bruce, 63, won all four of his opening four league matches with the Seasiders – the first Blackpool boss in the Club’s history to achieve such a feat. Victories included a dramatic late win over Exeter in his opening game, followed by memorable away victories at both Charlton and Huddersfield. The month ended with a 3-0 victory over Burton Albion.

On the award, Steve Bruce said:

“This award is deserved-recognition of how well the team has done since our arrival here last month.

“It has been a hectic opening few weeks since I joined the Club, with matches every three or four days. The players have done incredibly well to pick up our ideas and apply them to the matches so quickly, and we’ve got to be pleased with the start we have made.

“We need to do more of the same over the coming months if we want to be successful, and I’m confident we have a strong enough group who can continue to push on this season.”

Congratulations to the gaffer and all of his staff and players!’
